Lisbeth Engel's work focuses on highlighting the natural tendencies of the medium. While discipline plays a part in her pieces, she is equally satisfied by and interested in what happens when she purposefully relinquishes control. Many times it is the accidental mark that breathes real life into a work. Her aim is to strike a satisfying balance between the discipline of process and the freedom of chance, through expressionistic gesture and regard for what may happen despite her best efforts to plan and control the outcome of a piece. She sees it as a collaboration between will and intuition.

Anne Wilfer

Anne Wilfer's inspiration comes from a desire to honestly represent people, places, and things of beauty or intrigue. She is particularly drawn to landscapes that have some sort of human intervention: agricultural practices, farm structures, gardens, landforms, etc., as well as capturing light to describe form.
​
Wilfer's early interest in fine arts transitioned to working in the field of landscape architecture, though she continually observed and photographed images. Through her reconnection with fine arts, she has come full circle and approaches her art with wisdom and purpose.
